Redknap Family Bible Images

I have scanned a few of the pages from the Redknap families bible. The notes on the front and back covers started in 1863 and cover a few generations of the family, they include the births and deaths of the Redknap family.

The Redknap Family seem to have spread far and wide from their Thames / London home!

Pinhole Images

Some pinhole images I took several years ago for an A level project.  I used a pinhole camera from and polaroid film to capture the feet of my girlfriend.  The images are wonderfully wide angle and each took around 8 minutes to capture.  The final two images were taken with a homemade film canister pinhole camera, some photographic paper and some very bright studio flash heads ( hence the pained expression ).

Aerial Photos of Northamptonshire

Way back before Google Earth was around, I was lucky enough to be flown by my Father over a few areas in Northamptonshire.

We took off from Sywell Aerodrome and flew over Finedon, Towcester, Paulerspury and Pury End.  The photos were taken on negative film and later the prints were scanned.  Larger versions are available if required.

St Mary’s Junior School 2010 Calendar

Just completed a Calendar for the St Mary’s Junior School in Old Basing.

I did the photography, layouts and the post tweaking.  Not easy and some of the images are rougher than the others, but the staff knew their ideas were a little more ambitious than previous years and where very happy with the work.

Most of the images are montages of photos, this was done because we wanted to ensure all the children could be seen, so shots like the October one if you look carefully the same tree can be seen more than a few times!

The images have been sent to the printers and I should see the finished product pretty soon.

Page Rank

A little experiment into Page Rank, one of the considering factors used by Google to position a site on a web page.  The following sites are all connected to or written by me.

Page Rank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms.  Pages that Google believe are important pages receive a higher Page Rank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results.

Page Rank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus giving the linked page greater value.  They have always taken a pragmatic approach to help improve search quality and create useful products, and their technology uses the collective intelligence of the web to determine a page’s importance.

More info about page rank can be found on

Tori Treasure – Artist and Graphic Designer

Artwork by Tori TreasureLocal artist Tori Treasure was over today to get some of her recent artwork photographed.

Her most recent project has been connected to the launch of the forthcoming book Concrete Operational.

She had trouble finding a way of getting her artwork ready for the launch parties book.  Scanning gets very expensive and tricky when art is mounted and bigger than A4, so photography is a very simple and cost effective route to take.

Finding me via one of my web clients websites ( Louise Hight ) she contacted me and we met up earlier today to take the photos for the book and her website.  We photographed some 20 or so pieces together in RAW / DNG format for her to ready for the publication.

She had some great stuff that Nadine liked as well, so its easy to see how she does well with getting her work onto album covers and books etc.

IronMum pictures in the Gazette

The photos I took of the Bramley IronMum event a few weeks ago have been printed in the Basingstoke Gazette (last Friday) and without permission / credit in the Gazettes website.

The Gazette forgot to send anyone to photograph it for themselves, and asked to use my shots, they didnt want to pay anything which I thought was odd for a commercial operation, but for the Ironmum organisers I allowed them to print it. I didn’t give permission for them to use it on their website, especially without giving at least some credit.

The article and my image can be seen here.
